GOLF
When a golf course is being shaped in the dirt, wet weather can be a bane. At Heritage Hills in McCook, it was drought conditions that slowed down progress. It’s why the sixth hole isn’t ready yet for play on the renovated public course. The fill dirt turned to dust before fully compacted during the 2012 season.

The state has never hosted one of golf's major championships. But it could. All it takes is a little bit of dreaming.
Golf may not have a jersey or a helmet, but it has a unique dress code, and with it, a wide range of styles .
