Two people were seriously injured Wednesday morning in a traffic accident near One Pacific Place shopping center.
One of the injured, a 50-year-old man, had to be cut free from his vehicle after it struck a pole.
The two-vehicle crash occurred about 6:15 a.m. at 101st and Pacific Streets.
Emergency rescue personnel had to cut the man free of his vehicle after he became pinned inside.
The injured were taken in serious condition to Nebraska Medical Center.
Authorities were forced to clean up gasoline that had leaked from the man's vehicle after the crash.
About 15 minutes later, two people suffered nonlife-threatening injuries and one of them was taken to the med center in serious condition after a two-vehicle accident at 192nd and Blondo Streets.
The crash occurred just north of Blondo at 6:30 a.m.
An injured woman complained of left hip, upper abdominal, lower chest and pelvic pain after the accident and was taken to the med center.
The other injured person, a 54-year-old man, rolled his vehicle and was briefly trapped inside. He suffered a laceration above his right eye, according to rescue squad personnel, but was not taken to a hospital.
