A 57-year-old Omaha man was seriously injured Thursday when a car struck him in the crosswalk at 24th Street and Ames Avenue.
Daniel Case was taken to Creighton University Medical Center after the 4:35 p.m. accident for treatment of fractures in his left leg and spine and a small brain bleed, Omaha police said. His injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
Police said Case was walking from the northeast corner of 24th and Ames to the northwest corner when he was struck by a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Curtrina Crockron, 21.
Crockron was making a left turn from eastbound Ames on 24th Street, police said. She was cited on suspicion of driving under suspension, no proof of insurance and failure to yield to a pedestrian.
