Golfers aced out of their rides with theft of 4 carts

Police are investigating the theft of four golf carts over the Labor Day weekend from a par-3 course in north Omaha.

Someone broke into the garage at the Steve Hogan Golf Course, 6315 N. 30th St., Sunday night and took four carts valued at $2,500 each. The carts are leased by the course, police said.

The lock on the gate was broken, and the thieves pried open the door to the garage where carts are kept. A master key to operate the carts also was missing.

Police said it's unlikely there were any witnesses, because the garage door faces east on a secluded area of the course.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 444-STOP (7867) or log on to omahacrimestoppers.net.

Tipsters remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
