Erica Jenkins has been charged with a third assault since being jailed last week – the latest involving a jail guard.
Jenkins is the 23-year-old sister of slaying suspect Nikko Jenkins. She appeared in court on Thursday in connection with two assaults on inmates.
The judge set bail at $350,000, and she shouted, “Why you keep (expletive) with my bail?”
Douglas County Judge Joseph Caniglia asked her if she wanted a muzzle.
“Do you want a (expletive) muzzle?” Erica Jenkins shot back.
Hands cuffed, she toppled the lectern that inmates stand near during arraignments.
As Sgt. Walter Barbee escorted her from the courtroom, Jenkins yelled, “You ain't got (expletive) on me!”
Barbee told her to calm down, according to an incident report.
“The suspect became even more agitated, yelling, 'Calm down? Calm down?' Saliva was spraying as she yelled,” the incident report said.
Jenkins kicked Barbee in the shins and, as he tried to restrain her, head-butted him, raising a lump, according to the report.
Jail records show that she has been charged with third-degree assault on an officer.
That comes on top of the assault charges involving inmates. On Aug. 29, she was arrested on a Sarpy County warrant. While in the jail's booking area, Jenkins assaulted Jermaine Stewart, 28, punching him and holding him in a headlock, according to records.
The next day, she assaulted Tanyunika Carter, 28, according to the incident report. Authorities say Jenkins punched Carter, who is eight weeks pregnant, pulled her hair and broke her glasses.
