Chadron State’s Trelan Taylor suspended for six games

CHADRON, Neb. — Chadron State senior safety Trelan Taylor has been suspended for the first six games this season by the NCAA, Athletic Director Joel R. Smith has announced.

After an internal review by Chadron State, it was discovered Taylor was not eligible to compete during the fall 2011 season. The information was submitted to the NCAA and it was determined Taylor would serve a six-game suspension. He’ll be able to return to the Eagles the seventh week of the season.

In other news, tickets for Chadron’s game against West Texas A&M on Sept. 12 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, are now on sale. The game kicks off at 7 p.m.

Fans can purchase tickets and festival passes from Ticketmaster, as well as calling Chadron State College at 308-432-6240 beginning Thursday. Through Ticketmaster, fans can purchase online at Ticketmaster.com (search Lone Star Football Festival), by phone at 800-745-3000, and at numerous Ticketmaster retail outlets.

A single-day ticket is $25 for adults and $10 for students, 18 and under, through Ticketmaster.

However, Chadron State College has 200 discounted adult tickets available for $20 and 100 tickets for students available for $10. The festival pass, which is good for admission all three days, is $40 for adults and $15 for students. Seating will be general admission with children 1-year and older requiring a ticket. To be admitted with a student ticket, bearer must be between 1 and 18 years old or present valid college ID.

The alumni office is coordinating a private tour of Cowboys Stadium on Sept. 12. The cost is $20 and the tour will have access to the press box, luxury suites, stadium clubs, locker rooms, and field access. The private tour must be reserved and paid through the Chadron State alumni office by Sept. 5. For more information, contact Karen Pope at 308-432-6366 or kpope@csc.edu.
