Weekend Roundup: Lucky Bucket Beer-BQ, Benson Days

Rumor has it the weather this weekend is going to be the best it has been in a long time. We recommend you spend as much of it outside as you can because before you know it, summer will be over. Head to Lucky Bucket for an outdoor barbecue or do some yoga right in the middle of Farnam Street. Just don't let this beautiful weekend go to waste.

FRIDAY

Lucky Bucket Beer-BQ

Lucky Bucket Brewery, 11941 Centennial Road, La Vista.

6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

$5 in advance, $10 at the door

Try out all of the entries in Lucky Bucket's homebrew contest and play some outdoor games. There will be plenty of food and beer to sample well into the night.

The Millions with UUVVWWZ

Waiting Room Lounge, 6212 Maple St.

9 p.m.

$10

The Millions were first successful back in the early '90s. They're back and playing one of three scheduled performance this year at The Waiting Room. Saddle Creek band UUVVWWZ will also be hitting the stage.


SATURDAY

Benson Days

Downtown Benson

8 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Drop by during the day for a pancake breakfast, arts and crafts fair, musical performances and a street festival. Come back after dark and spend $10 on a wrist band that will get you into five different bars which will have bands performing.

Farnam Street. between 13th and 19th Streets.

8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Wanna do some yoga, hear some slam poetry or climb a rock wall? You can do all that and more in downtown Omaha. Farnam Street is shut down for much of the day for a wealth of wacky activities.


SUNDAY

Sandbloom with All Young Girls Are Machine Guns, Citizen's Band and Faerie Tones

Barley Street Tavern, 2735 N. 62nd St.

7 p.m.

Get ready to head back to the work week with an early show at Barley Street. Blues man Kevin Sandbloom joins OEAA winners All Young Girls Are Machine Guns. You'll see a great show and be home in time for bed.

Joslyn Castle Literary Festival - "Jazz Age at the Castle: F. Scott Fitzgerald"

Joslyn Castle, 3902 Davenport St.

10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Head back in time with a display of artifacts from the 1920's as the Durham Museum and Joslyn Castle present “Durham at the Castle: Fitzgerald's Jazz Age.” A classic car show will be set up too, featuring more than 100 rare cars and motorcycles.
