Cursive sets out on Midwest tour, hits Omaha Sunday

Omaha rock band Cursive will embark on a short tour with Digital Leather that begins today in Iowa City and continues through the Midwest, hitting Omaha on Sunday and finishing up the next day in Kansas City.

“I Am Gemini,” the band’s 2012 album, follows the journey of Cassius and Pollock, twin brothers separated at birth.

“It’s not necessary to write the songs in such a way, but in my head, I’ve always likened an album to a book of short stories,” frontman Tim Kasher told The World-Herald. “And my preference on a book of short stories is when they’re threaded together on some common theme.”

See Cursive with Digital Leather and See Through Dresses at 9 p.m. Sunday at The Waiting Room Lounge, 6212 Maple St.

Tickets are $13 in advance at www.etix.com and Homer’s Music or $15 day of show at the venue.
