Bellevue getting a new nightclub
By Cara Pesek / World-Herald staff writer

Bellevue, which isn't exactly a hotspot for bars, clubs and other after-dark activities, will soon have a new nightclub.

Fidel Favela plans to open a dance club and restaurant at 605 Fort Crook Road, in the space formerly occupied by La Mesa Mexican Restaurant.

Favela cited the lack of nearby entertainment options as a reason for opening the club.

“In town, there's a very limited number of things to do, he said. “We don't have enough entertainment, enough gatherings and things like that.”

Favela said he planned to cater to a diverse audience. The club, which he plans to call Mega, will offer small plates of food in the evening hours and will transform into a dance club later in the day. He plans to offer R&B and hip hop nights, as well as Latin music nights, he said. He also planned to occasionally book live bands, which he anticipated would draw an older, mostly Hispanic audience.

Mega likely won't open until this fall — Favela is planning extensive renovations to the former restaurant first.

“It's been shut down for a while, so it needs a lot of love and attention to get it up and going,” he said.
