DES MOINES — The Omaha Storm Chasers were unable to get a victory out of a doubleheader at Iowa on Saturday, losing 9-5 and 8-7.
In the opener, the Chasers jumped out to a fast start, scoring four in the top of the first inning.
From there, Omaha was only able to push across one more run. Xavier Nady scored Irving Falu on a fifth-inning single to give the Chasers a 5-4 lead.
The Cubs took a one-run lead in the bottom of the inning and had their own four-run inning in the sixth.
In game two, Omaha staged a ninth-inning rally but was unable to get the four runs it needed. After scoring three, Adam Moore struck out and Quintin Berry grounded out to end the game.
