The Omaha Community Playhouse will present a free staged reading of the play “Enron” at 7:30 p.m. June 17 in the Hawks Mainstage Theatre, 6915 Cass St.
The reading is part of the Playhouse’s 21 & Over series of adult programming. A donation will be taken.
“Enron,” by Lucy Prebble, chronicles the collapse of a company through a satirical mix of documentary and fiction. It centers on the company’s chief executive officer, Jeffrey Skilling.
The cast includes Matthew Pyle, Nick Zadina, Jennifer Gilg, Randy Vest, Jeffrey Taxman, Nick Rowley, Karl Rohling, Teri Fender, Julia Hinson, Mary Beth Adams and Katie Cameron. Amy Lane is directing.
Oakview to screen marathon documentary
“Spirit of the Marathon II,” a documentary about a race through the historic streets of Rome, will be screened at 7 p.m. Wednesday at AMC Oakview movie theater in Omaha.
The film focuses on seven individuals participating in the race. It also includes interviews with marathon greats Stefano Baldini, Paula Radcliffe, Frank Shorter, Kathrine Switzer and others.

Actress Helen Mirren plays Queen Elizabeth II in the stage production of “The Audience.” The performance at the National Theatre in London will be screened at the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center in Lincoln, 313 N. 13th St.

Words series features David Philip Mullins
David Philip Mullins will read excerpts from his writings Wednesday at noon at Kaneko-UNO Library, 1111 Jones St. The free reading is part of the Wednesday Words series, which features award-winning writers from the Nebraska Arts Council’s Individual Artist Fellowship recipients.
Mullins, a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, won the Mary McCarthy Prize in short fiction, the International Walter Scott Prize for short stories and the Silver Pen award. He is the author of “Greetings From Below: Stories.” He is an assistant professor of creative writing at Creighton University.
Omaha Chamber Music Society starts series
The Omaha Chamber Music Society kicks off its summer concert series June 16 at First Central Congregational Church, 421 S. 36th St.
The 3 p.m. concert, “Flute and Friends,” features flautist Maria Harding, tenor T. Adam Goos, cellist Tim Strang and pianist Christi Zuniga. A short introductory talk by one of the performers will begin at 2:40 p.m., and a reception will follow the concert.
